I didn’t intend to send out my first post until the weekend, but some folks online gave me the idea to make a spreadsheet tracking the status of the high volume of executive orders and memoranda from the last few days.
You can find that tracker here: https://t.co/ViOMdsik7b
It gives TL;DR summaries for each of the executive orders from Jan 20th, 2025 onward, as well as their current implementation status, a forecast of how likely they are to be blocked due to litigation or logistical challenges, and a rough forecast of their impact. It’s important to remember that there’s often a wide range of potential outcomes with executive orders: many of these simply mandate agencies to draft documents exploring ideas or creating policy proposals which are then fleshed out later. Due to the transition and a delay in updating the Federal Register, it’s also slightly unclear which of these will be classified as “Executive Orders” and which will be classified as memoranda, proclamations, or other directives.
I hope this was a useful aggregator of information, and I intend on updating the spreadsheet weekly. If you have any recommendations for further details for the tracker, let me know in the comments!
Found this through a shout-out from the Free Press (https://www.thefp.com/p/tgif-i-solemnly-swear). Thanks for the helpful tl;dr.
EDIT: Oh and FYI the OECD EO link is wrong in the doc, links to the security council EO instead.
Thank you. Very helpful and informative. It's been like drinking from a fire hose this week, and this helps to settle it down.
