I like this! Honestly it would be messy but you could add in market based mechanisms right within Google Sheets too if you really wanted to turn it into a prediction market. But yeah, you don't even need that if the competition is not testing trading skills but rather just, "hey predict a particular fixed window of time from this other fixed window of time." Totally great!
Sounds interesting. Some people on Twitter have informal polls about the direction of the stock market. They'll simplify it by asking something like the next 100 points in the S&P will be...then offer UP or DOWN as the options. With a pro audience, they're more accurate than most pundits.
